When all seems overwhelming; Surf!

This week has been a bugger. My wife will not let me watch the news anymore because all I do now is scream at all those kooks in Congress that call themselves our representatives while they rattle off their talking points and pine away on how much they are looking out for all of us. I decided that last night I will be writing in Ron Paul's name on my ballot in November and systematically vote against all federal legislature incumbents, no matter their religious, sorry, political affiliation, in this election and in the midterms as well.

There are only two kinds of politicians in Washington right now. The ones that knew what was going on and turned a blind eye and the ones that did not and are too stupid and naive to be there in any case!

So that being said I am done ranting about the bad and am ready to embrace the good! My buddy Richie Parker called me this morning to head to Boca Chica for a surf and I jumped right on that train! We headed down there about 8:00 and at first it was decent, chest to shoulder and a little mushy but faster on the inside. I caught some pretty fun rides and was far from having a horrible time. Actually, as with most sessions, as soon as I hit the water my stress level and worries were washed away with the first wave that I ducked under on the way out.

About an hour and a half into the session the wind turned offshore, the water glassed off and the lefts lit up! It seemed like every left I took just lined up all the way into the beach. For the next two hours, Boca Chica was as good as it gets form wise. I caught three waves back to back that delivered everything except the elusive South Texas Barrel! Snap turns off the top, long carves, free falling floaters and race track sections that allowed you to bust your fins free with your closeout turn at the end! Excellent! Just what the doctor called for!

So I can now sit down and watch the news with the wife and not scream because you know what, who the hell cares about those hodadas in Washington D.C., life is good in the Lower Laguna Madre!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention this, but local grom Kyle Ferris has been invited to Huntington Beach, California next week to work out and surf with the United States Surf Team!!

PRAY FOR SURF!!
